History
Brendon Powerwashers was formed in the late 1970’s and today is one of the largest Manufacturers of High Quality Engine Driven Powerwashers in Europe.
The name of the company originating from the family home, Brendon Edge, located within The Brendon Hills in the South West of England.
A trusted Family Business
In the early 1960’s the late Hugh Hendy (W H Hendy) established “W H Hendy Drainage and Water Engineers” – starting in the agricultural contracting business. Over the next 40 years it grew into a well respected company providing much local employment. Today this company is run by his eldest son Alan and offers complete drainage and water supply solutions.
In the late 1970’s Hugh Hendy was approached to supply a diesel engine driven powerwasher, instead of the more popular electrically powered units available at the time. He was already using the well-proven Cat Pumps for pumping water on land holdings – it was a logical step to use this pump in the very first Brendon Powerwasher.
Understanding the contracting environment, Hughes’ second son Robert worked closely with his father to design and produce a pressure washer that was functional, easy to use, portable, and very durable. Hence the slogan, “Built to Last, Designed to Perform”, dates back to the very beginning of Brendon Powerwashers.
Hughes’ third son Chris joined the company from college a couple of years later and developed the Sales and Marketing strategies.
In 1988 the Company was incorporated and to the present day remains a trusted family owned business, with Robert and Chris as Joint Managing Directors.
